Who we are
Duly Named is owned and operated by The Quiet Buttinsky LLC, a New York limited liability company. When this page says "we" or "us," it means The Quiet Buttinsky LLC.
What you type
The inputs you enter (names, teams, dates, and so on) are used to generate names in your browser. They aren't stored on our servers. If you use Smarter names, those inputs and the names you've already seen are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, only to generate that batch of names. We don't keep them.
Loved names
Names you love, and your last settings and entries in the generator (such as a name or date you typed), are saved in your own browser's storage on this device so they're there next time. We never receive them. Start over clears your entries and results, the Clear button clears your loved names, and clearing your browser's site data removes everything.
Sharing
Email opens your own email app with your list filled in. Download and Print happen entirely on your device. We don't collect email addresses.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly service that doesn't use cookies, to count page visits and see which pages are popular, where visitors come from (such as a search engine), and general details like browser, device type, and country. It doesn't track you across other sites, build a profile of you, or collect personal information such as your name or email address. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for more.
Advertising
This site is supported by advertising. Ads may come from advertising partners such as Google, which may use cookies to show relevant ads. Where required by law, we'll ask for your consent first. You can learn more and opt out of personalized ads at Google Ad Settings.
Affiliate and sponsored links
Some links to products, such as signs, plaques, and pet tags, are affiliate or sponsored links. If you buy through one, we earn a commission from our retail partners at no extra cost to you. When you click one, you go to the retailer's website, which may use its own cookies to record that you came from us. Their privacy policy applies there. When you click a product link from a name preview, we copy that name to your clipboard so you can paste it into the store's personalization box. The name isn't sent to the store or to us.
Name previews
Name previews, including any second line you add (such as a phone number on a pet tag), are drawn entirely in your browser. They aren't sent to us, and downloaded images are saved only to your device.
